Later called Holmfirth Wesleyan Methodist Church. The class was established probably from Netherthong Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1776, and went to Joseph Woffenden's house at Upperbridge, which was licensed for worship in 1780. A chapel was built at Cuttell Bottom between 1787 - 1789 and was on the same site of the later Holmfirth Liberal Club. The Sunday School was held in a room next to the chapel from 1805, a new chapel was built in Huddersfield Road in 1810 and opened in 1811. A Sunday School built in School Street near to the chapel in 1843. A new chapel was built on the same site as the old one in 1871 and opened in 1872, the Sunday School was rebuilt in 1874. The chapel was finally demolished in 1970 and the congregation used Underbank Methodist Church for worship between, 1970 - 1976 until another chapel was built on the site in 1975 - 1976 and was called Holmfirth Methodist Church from 1976 and was still in existence in 2000.
