The following source list was originally available only on paper in one of the West Yorkshire Archive Service offices. It may have been compiled many years ago and could be out of date. It was designed to act as a signpost to records of interest on a particular historical subject, but may relate only to one West Yorkshire district, or be an incomplete list of sources available. The ministers of Salendine Nook, Pole Moor and Lockwood visited Meltham to preach Baptist doctrines in 1810. At the instigation of these three, a house in Meltham was licensed for Baptist worship in 1811.

In 1813 a congregation was established with five new members and three members from Lockwood.

In 1816-1817 a chapel was built at Broadlands with a Sunday School adjoining the chapel being built in 1832-1833; this was subsequently enlarged in 1844-1846.

In 1862-1864 a new chapel was built behind the old one and a new Sunday School was built on the site of the old school and chapel in 1910-1911.

The chapel ceased to be used for worship and was demolished and the Sunday School was converted for use as a chapel in 1968.

The church is still in existence in 2009.
