Millbridge Ragged School was established in 1866 by some members of Heckmondwike Greenside Wesleyan Church who lived in Liversedge. They used various rented premises, the first being a room in Michael Swallow's mill.

By 1868 preaching services were being held in the schoolroom.

Between 1873-1874 the chapel and Sunday School were built in Bennett Street and the Sunday School was subsequently enlarged between 1891-1892.

Bewteen 1903-1904 a new chapel was built at the corner of Huddersfield Road and Station Lane and the Sunday School was extended in 1913.

In 1967 the church closed and the congregation joined Litletown St Andrew's Methodist Church.

The chapel was demolished and the Sunday School was made into a workshop by 1970.
